Why fashion brands are measuring production CO₂e
Under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Germany's Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz (LkSG), fashion brands are now required to measure and disclose Scope 3 emissions — including content production. How the calculator works
We apply emissions coefficients from the BAFTA albert Production Carbon Calculator, EU Commission JRC LCA datasets, and ICAO aviation carbon estimators. The physical production estimate accounts for crew travel and catering (per shoot day), location logistics, international travel, and garment shipping. The AI render figure uses measured compute energy consumption data from GPU inference at scale.
For formal CSRD reporting, figures should be validated by a certified LCA practitioner. This calculator provides directional estimates for internal planning and communications.
